Visitor enticed at Faragher’s book launch Published: October 02, 2008 4:00 PM, Bowen Island Undercurrent
On Saturday, Sept. 27, I visited Bowen Island, for my very first time to attend the book launch of Nick Faragher’s The Well. What an amazing introduction to Bowen Island. The Gallery at Artisan Square provided a most appropriate backdrop, fit for the introduction of an artist of the written word. I was part of an undoubtedly captivated audience listening intently as Nick told of the stories behind his stories, read selected excerpts from his book, and even treated us to a few readings of his yet unpublished poetry. I left that night with hopes to learn more about Bowen Island and the depth of its literary and artistic community, as well as hoping that Nick’s next book will be a collection of his poems. by Ruby Ng

“The Well and Other Stories by Nick Faragher will take the reader on geographic, temporal, and human journeys. Faragher captures in well crafted prose the vagaries of his protagonists in situations ranging from the poignant to the laughable . . . “ — Patrick Taylor, author of the short story collection Only Wounded: Ulster Stories and the New York Times best selling novel An Irish Country Doctor.
